Painting of the Ducal Palace and Piazetta, Venice

Description
This was the home of the Doge, the chief magistrate and leader of the Republic of Venice from 700-1797. The details of the building-work are minutely-observed by Edward William Cooke. The painting also shows his interest in light and reflection. This painting is part of a collection of landscape paintings put together by Sir Frederick Berryman, a former Chair of Somerset County Council.
