William Cox established Cox's Brass and Iron Foundry in 1810 as a family business. The Foundry was located in Tancred Street, Taunton. The Foundry produced skillets like this one which feature their maker's mark on the handle along with a Roman numeral, in this case III, which indicates the size of the skillet.
