Carved church screen

Description
This sculptured limestone panel is part of a reredos or screen carved in about 1500. The reredos probably stood behind the high altar of St Johnês Church in Wellington and was richly coloured. Some traces of paint survive. The reredos was defaced during the Reformation, making identification of some of the figures difficult. Later it was taken down and used as paving around the altar.
