Painting of the West Front of Wells Cathedral

Description
Wells Cathedral was built around 1175 and was the first English cathedral to be built in the new gothic style. By choosing to show just the central section of the west front on such a grand scale, Ken Howard gives the viewer a new way of looking at the building. Or, to put it in his own words: •painting is taking the viewerês perception for a walkê.
