Afghan dagger and scabbard

Description
This dagger was captured in July 1839 when the 13th Somerset Light Infantry stormed the fortress of Ghuznee during the Afghan wars. The steel dagger has a brass handle intricately engraved with a floral design and green and red gemstones. The brass scabbard is also decorated with the same floral engravings, curving to a small round end.
